Our wheel building courses are run in our purpose built training centre. Each student has their own work bench and own set of tools to work with. Hubs, spokes and rims are provided for you to practice on for the first 2 days of the course, you can then either buy components to build your set of wheels on the 3rd day or continue to practice with ours.
Our 2 day course is a condensed version of the 3 day course. You are expected to undertake self guided learning with the notes provided to understand the theory of wheel building.
The 2 day course only covers practical hands on wheel building.
(£450 with City and Guilds/IMI Accreditation)
Our three day course gives you the opportunity to learn the art of wheel building. During the course you will learn both the theory of wheel building as well as the skills and techniques involved in building wheels. The course is suitable for complete beginners, no previous experience is expected from you before taking the course. by the end of the three days you will be equipped with all the knowledge necessary to go on to be an expert wheel builder, given practice.
The course is a mixture of theory and practical hands on experience. Third day of the course allows you the opportunity to build yourself a set of wheels to your own specifications. Buy the hubs and rims of your choice and build a set of wheels to take away and ride. (if you want something specific or exotic please ask us to order it before you arrive).
