Our courses are run in our purpose built training centre. Each student has their own work bench/frame jig and own set of tools to work with. Bikes/tubing are provided for you to practice on for the course both road and mountain bikes are available. Build up your confidence on our bikes before tackling your own bike for a full strip down, clean, re-lubricate and rebuild. Maximum of 4 students on each IMI mechanic courses and 3 on the frame building course.
We have 3 VRQ Level 3 IMI awards courses here at Downland Cycles, Standard and Intensive Mechanics and Advanced Frame Building and Design.
The Standard and Intensive Mechanic Courses contain all of the same course material as each other the only difference is the length of the course. Practical and written assessments are completed throughout the programme as part of the training and qualification process.
